Jeff sighed as the automatic doors slid shut mercilessly behind him, the security guard watching with a hawk’s glare as he slowly trudged away, cardboard box held in both hands. It wasn’t even his fault that the deal had failed in the first place - his manager had been the one who’d handled the paperwork wrongly, but of course, as just a paper-pusher he was the one who took the fall. “It’s just so unfair…” Jeff grumbled as he walked along the street, already dreading having to hunt for another job… but then, his hand absentmindedly brushed against his pocket and pulled out a key card, the logo of his former place of employment emblazoned on top. Jeff stared down at the keycard, then back up at his office building thoughtfully…

“Sorry, I left something at the office…” It was nearly 10 pm, the office building’s lobby shrouded in half-darkness, and Jeff let out a slight sigh of relief as he entered the elevators, pressing the button to ascend to his floor - he was lucky the security guard wasn’t the one who had practically thrown him out of the building earlier that day. There was no one left on the floor where he used to work, and as Jeff made his way towards his boss’ office he couldn’t help but pass by at his old cubicle - of course, they had already found someone to fill his place. Jeff crouched down, lifting up the plant pot by the office door and taking out another keycard, using it to unlock the door to the manager’s office and step inside.

The door closed and enveloped Jeff in silence, so absolute he could hear the sound of blood ringing in his ears. He had come here on impulse, with no clue as to what his revenge (or attempt at it, at least) would be like, and he still didn’t - all he knew was that he had to right this wrong, somehow. “Might as well see what dirty secrets you’ve got hidden,” Jeff murmured as he pulled open the desk drawers, rummaging through them for anything that caught his interest. “Hm?” In the bottommost drawer, lying on top of a bunch of paperwork, was a bracelet, made up of several light-blue gems, faintly shimmering under his torchlight. On impulse, Jeff slipped the bracelet onto his hand, thinking that it looked pretty good on him - before a poof of smoke surrounded him, obscuring all of his surroundings.

“Ack… *cough*…” Jeff waved a hand in front of his face to clear away the smoke, coughing away the bits of smoke that had gone into his airways. “What was that!?” His eyes widened, realizing that his voice was distinctly higher-pitched than before, as well as more mature and somehow… more confident? Shaking hands reached up to his chest, nervously probing at the generously sized breasts that now sat there, and Jeff let out a confused moan of pleasure as he felt how sensitive they were to the touch. “W-why do I have…” There was a weight on his head almost dragging its back downwards a little, which was certainly not supposed to be there, and Jeff fumbled at his phone, turning on the front-facing camera to see his reflection. Or, should it be her reflection? There was no denying that the face reflected in Jeff’s phone screen was almost certainly a female’s - long, flowing gray hair, makeup tastefully applied to accentuate the face’s natural beauty, large gray-blue eyes wide in shock and almost swimming with tears of shock and surprise.

And his clothes… Jeff looked downwards, and saw that they were certainly similar to before, albeit repurposed to suit his new physique - his dress shirt had become a collared blouse, pants a short skirt that hugged the contours of his rear and thighs tightly. Jeff slowly reached a hand down in between his legs, blushing in embarrassment as his fingers touched a lacy thong where a bulge should clearly have been. As much as she may have been unwilling to admit the fact, Jeff was certainly a biological female now. “But how…” Jeff’s eyes fell onto the bracelet around her wrist, coming to the inevitable conclusion that it had to have been the culprit behind her sudden swap of gender. She quickly tore the bracelet off and tossed it onto the table - but nothing happened. The bracelet remained inert, and Jeff was still a girl. “What do I do now…?” Jeff sat down in the manager’s chair, crossing her arms on the desk and resting her head on it. Her mind ran wild, still reeling from the new sensations felt everywhere on the body, the increased sensitivity of her nipples even through her bra as they rubbed against the soft fabric of her blouse, warmth radiating from her lower body…

But then, something caught her attention - something that shouldn’t have been there. “Wait… but how..?” Jeff couldn’t help but exclaim, staring at one of the photos on the desk. One of her as she was now, posing against a desk with one arm leaning against it for support, slight smile on her face. The ones beside it were similar, of her and a man - her boyfriend? - smiling happily like they had barely a care in the world, so different from Jeff as she was before. It didn’t make sense, seeing these snapshots of a happy life that wasn’t hers and yet felt so familiar, in her manager’s office that she wasn’t even supposed to be in right now… no, it made perfect sense. This was her office, after all. “I should get some rest… can’t even think straight.” Jeff- no, Jessica rubbed her temples as she stood up, picking up her purse from beside the desk as she left her office. Another long day at work… just one of many more to come, she was sure. Why wouldn’t it be? After all, she was just her company would never want to terminate one of their most competent managers. And if she played her cards right, there would surely be plenty of opportunities for advancement in the future…
