The round moon hung high in the sky above as Thomas made his way home, passing by neighbourhood after neighbourhood, street by street. It was just his luck to miss the last bus - it was a good thing that the area of suburbs he lived in was safe, relatively speaking. However, that didn’t help the fact that judging by the estimate on his phone’s GPS, he was still half an hour or so away from home. There had been no taxis, no Uber drivers willing to pick him up, and with no other option he had elected to walk home instead of standing around and waiting. A decision that Thomas did not regret… so far.
His footsteps slowed, attention caught by something glimpsed on his periphery. Thomas turned to the right and saw a house that seemed fairly unremarkable - if there was anything remarkable about the house itself, it looked just a little more ornate than its peers, just a little older. But what had caught Thomas’ attention was not the house itself - it was the tree right beside it. More specifically, the apples hanging from the tree’s branches, every one seeming to almost shimmer with a dark red lustre as they reflected the moonlight. They looked tantalizing, tempting, drawing Thomas in as he climbed over the fence surrounding the house and approached the tree. Closer, he could smell the faint fragrance of the apples, almost enveloping him and soothing his mind. Thomas picked one of the low-hanging apples, cradling it in his hand - it felt smooth and hard and solid, color bringing to mind a dark ruby, glimmering and mysterious.
No longer able to wait any longer, Thomas took a small bite out of the apple. Maybe it was just that it had been hours since he had had dinner, but as he tasted the sweet juices of the apple, the slight crunch of its flesh between his teeth, Thomas could almost say that it was one of the best things he had ever tasted. He chewed more, swallowed, neck slimming and Adam’s Apple within disappearing even as he eagerly took another bite. “This is good!” He couldn’t help but let out, not even caring about whether the house’s occupants would notice the intruder on their property, nor noticing that his voice had taken on a more higher-pitched, youthful tone. Fat began pooling in his chest, rounding out into apples of their own and forming into two perky breasts. To accomodate for the increased weight Thomas’ back cracked slightly, spine gaining more curvature as it shortened, bringing his height down from over six feet to barely above five. His legs did not shorten by much, however,
Thomas made quick work of the apple, consuming even its core to leave just the stem behind, which he tossed onto the grass at his feet. “Just what I needed~” He plucked another apple with hands that were becoming slimmer, while the calluses on his palms and fingers disappeared to leave behind smooth skin. Thomas bit into the apple and was rewarded by the same refreshing sweetness as before, canines sharpening and lengthening ever so slightly - though not so much so as to immediately attract notice. "I might as well have another…" The desire to return home had slowly vanished, and as Thomas finished the second apple he immediately began searching for another. But there weren't any more within reach… "Hah!" He crouched down and jumped up, thighs becoming thicker as they flexed, and his fingers just managed to snag another of the apples. As Thomas landed softly on the grass, his hips cracked softly as they widened, fat around his abdomen disappearing to leave a smooth, toned navel.'
“These are simply heavenly…” Thomas murmured as he bit into the apple, voice taking on a more refined and haughty tone as his facial features were reshaped into those of a girl’s, ears drawn into points that reflected a more-than-human origin. His hair started to grow longer, taking on a dark purple tint that almost allowed it to blend into the darkness of the night, while his eyes shimmered briefly and turned a shade of blood-red to match the apples. Even as he finished the apple, Thomas felt a strange sense of hunger gnawing within him… one that perhaps required a different kind of sustenance to sate. “Just one more, I suppose…” Thomas crouched down slightly, and in an instant bat’s wings burst out of his back, ripping massive holes in the back of his shirt, but that did not matter. Flapping his new-found wings deftly and skilfully, Thomas lifted himself off the ground and flew onto one of the tree’s topmost branches, sitting on it with legs crossed carelessly. From his vantage point Thomas could see down the length of the entire street, all the houses with their lights out and inhabitants sleeping peacefully inside - though he started to sense something different entirely. It was faint at first, a dull, rhythmic pulsing, felt through his body rather than heard. The hunger grew stronger, stronger even as Thomas felt a shifting in his nether regions, reproductive organs replaced by those of a female’s, stronger even as she finished the apple and lifted off the tree with her wings, hovering high in the sky above the street as her outfit shifted and reformed, into a blouse, jacket, and skirt more befitting of her new physique. What was her name again? It was becoming harder and harder to remember… but why would Thea be confused about such trivial matters? There was no doubt about who she was, and no doubt about why she was here - a quiet suburban neighbourhood, residents lulled into complacency from their mundane daily life, would certainly prove to be ripe pickings for a vampire such as her. Now, just one question remained: who her first victim would be…
