Symbiosis technology had always been a popular area of development for scientists to pursue since its conception. The idea that a person could be augmented through the use of a separate organism was revolutionary but a very attractive-sounding prospect. The first organism that fit the bill for such an idea was discovered in 1984. Seeming to come from somewhere off-planet, it was discovered at the site of a meteor impact with the Earth. The organism seemed to take a liking to humans and often tried to coat itself over people like some sort of protective armor while it fed on the bacteria present on people's skin. 

It wasn't until nearly forty years later that scientists fully mapped this mysterious organism's entire genome and were able to grow more in a lab. As soon as this was successfully accomplished, investors smelled blood in the water and began dumping hundreds of millions of dollars into R & D to turn the organism into a marketable product. Most of these ventures ended in failure due to the aesthetic nature of the organism. Its slick black latex-like look was off-putting to most people. It did, however, find a market in the sex industry. 

Scientists had found a way to edit the genome of the organism slightly so that it could get a sense of the desires of the host it attached itself to. Many high-end prostitutes and sex workers would purchase a vial of the organism and let it bond to them. From there, the organism would reshape the host's body to better match the desires of the host as well as clothe them in a sheet of itself. The sex workers who could afford this enhancement exploded in popularity and raked in double to triple their usual income. There was a small piece of information that was overlooked during this boom though.

The organism, once fused with a host, was nearly impossible to get rid of. However you ended up was as good as permanent so long as the organism was alive. Another overlooked fact is that while these sex workers performed their “duties,” the organism had a tendency to spread some of itself to whoever was accompanying the worker at the time. This went somewhat unnoticed at first, due to people not wanting to admit that they had hired a prostitute, but eventually there were enough cases that it could no longer be denied. 

Men were getting fused with the organism left and right and ending up with bodies shockingly different from the ones they had before. The organism tended to have a preference towards the female form and would often reshape men into the women of their dreams. The scientists' best guess was that the organism was confusing the host's desires for a partner as desires for the host themselves. Men everywhere were turning into busty women with fat asses and puffy lips. Many of the men were more attractive than the women that had “infected” them in the first place and began to take over as leaders of the sex work industry. Nobody was sure how far this was going to go, and scientists were working around the clock to find a fix for this unforeseen issue. Not everyone wanted a fix though. Some people were now living their best lives.
