Charlie had always been a bit of an ass. Of course, he didn't know that. If you had asked Charlie, he would have told you he was one of the best people to ever walk the earth. His arrogance was intensely annoying to most people. Whenever he got an idea in his head, he was sure that it was correct even in the face of overwhelming evidence. The setting did not matter either. Whether Charlie was with “friends” or out in public, he was always being his usual self.

This fact of Charlie’s life would lead him into a situation that he was not quite prepared for. While out at a bar one night, he somehow got onto the topic of women's rights and their role in society. Not only did he allege that they were only good for cooking, cleaning, and fucking, but also that their lives were extremely easy. At this particular bar just so happened to be one Lisa Struming. Lisa was a time traveler with a great deal of advanced technology from the future. Lisa didn’t advertise this fact due to unwanted attention, but when she overheard Charlie, she knew she had to do something to teach him a lesson.

Lisa pulled out a small electrical device, whose origins were at one point the cellular phone. “Phones” could do a hell of a lot more in the future though. She punched a few things into the on-screen keyboard, populating some fields of a very special application. Then Lisa pointed the device at Charlie as if to change the channel on a TV. She tapped a small green button on the screen and just like that, Charlie was gone. Nobody else at the bar seemed to notice. In fact, nobody in his life would notice. It would be as if Charlie had never existed.

Charlie came to consciousness almost immediately and looked around at his surroundings. Although they weren’t his surroundings. They were her surroundings. The room looked incredibly dated. Possibly from the 60s, although it was hard to tell entirely. Charlie’s husband called to her from the other room.

“You better get undressed by the time I get in there!”

Charlie knew that something wasn’t right. Had she always been a woman? She certainly didn't think so, but she was having a hard time remembering exactly. One thing she did know was that if she didn’t do what her husband said, he was going to be angry with her, and that was the last thing she wanted. He always got like this on Fridays after he ate the dinner she had prepared. She supposed life would be easier if she could just get away from him, but a woman was only good for three things, as her husband always told her: cooking, cleaning, and fucking. Charlie had a sense that she hadn’t always had to do those three things on repeat at some point, but when? Certainly not here in 1964. Must have been a past life… an easier life.
