"Just a little closer," I muttered at the Gardevoir in the field, seemingly unaware of my presence. She glided effortlessly across the ground, plucking and smelling various flowers, making cute noises as she did so. I moved a little closer in the bush I was in, trying my hardest to make it not rustle. I pulled a Pokéball from my bag, preparing a throw. I wound up my arm, aiming directly at the Gardevoir before sending the ball flying at the creature with almost perfect precision. She didn't even flinch as the ball suddenly stopped mid-air, floating mere inches from her. It lost all its momentum, dropping to the ground without even activating.
She turned toward the bush I was in, flicking her hands and parting the bush around me. I looked at her in surprise, only to meet her glowing eyes, my mind seeming to lose control. I watched as my body started to approach her despite my attempts to regain control. She grew closer to me, and I slowly walked towards her, reaching her long arm to my chest. I saw a grin beneath her hair as she placed her palm against my chest, roots sprouting from the earth around me.
The foliage crawled up my legs, entangling me in its grasp, preventing me from moving as if I had control of my body. I felt a strange sensation in my core, my arms feeling… flat? I watched in horror as my hands turned green, turning into broad leaves in the corner of my vision. The vines began to pull my legs together, clasping them together in a tight binding. They started to merge into one another, becoming a single green stalk that included my torso. My face shifted in hue to a vibrant red, the distinctly floral taste of roses filled my senses. My head twisted into many petals, becoming the bud of a rose. I shrank rapidly as the roots let me go, causing me to fall to the ground, nothing but an unblossomed rose lying on the clearing's floor.
The Gardevoir bent over, making a cooing noise as she plucked from the ground. She tapped me with a finger, and I felt my head blossom, revealing my deep red petals. She brought me to her nose, basking in my scent before kneeling back down and planting me back on the ground. The bottom of my stalk grew roots deep into the soil, embedding me into the ground. She gave me one last look before floating away, leaving me as a single rose in the middle of nowhere, destined to live out my days as a flower, hoping she would return and change me back.
