The doorbell rang as Marcy and Leon waited patiently to be let in. Leon seemed rather calm compared to Marcy who nervously twiddled her thumbs and kept glancing over to her boyfriend for assurance that things were going fine. Leon caught one of her glances in his peripherals so he held his hand out, gesturing for Marcy to hold it. “It’s gonna be fine. My family is gonna love you.”
Marcy hesitated but eventually gave in, placing her hand onto Leons. “I know… Doesn’t make me any less nervous though.”
They only had to wait for a short while before they heard the door unlock and swing open. But rather than having to immediately meet one of Leon’s parents there seemed to be no one on the other side of the door. That was until their eyes wandered down and a young boy, no older than 8 or so, came into view.
“Uncle Leon!” The boy shouted with the very giddy you’d expect a kid to have upon seeing one of their favorite extended relatives.
“Hey Stevie,” Leon squatted down to be on eye level with the boy and ruffled his hair, “thanks for letting us in.”
“Mom and Auntie Anna are busy cooking so they asked me to grab the door.” The boy's eyes wandered over to the nervous woman in the white sundress. “Who’s that Uncle Leon?”
“Oh!” Leon stood up, wrapped his arm around Marcy’s shoulder, and pulled her in close. “This is Marcy and we’re boyfriend and girlfriend.”
“Woah! She’s very pretty!”
The young boys' unfiltered adorance of Marcy caused Leon to laugh as Marcy grew deeply embarrassed. “She sure is Stevie. Now why don’t you run along to your cousins while we greet everyone?”
The young boy nodded and, as he turned to face the inside of the house to run off, shouted, “Uncle Leon is here Auntie!” And he was off, sprinting down the entrance hallway and disappearing around a corner into another room.
The two of them, hand in hand, followed Stevie into the house. Various tacky Easter decorations had been put up for the family gathering including paper cutouts of eggs and rabbits, baskets of plastic eggs and colorful fake grass, dyed eggs, and even festive napkins, paper plates, and the like. While most of the kids ran about the house, hyped up on sugar and riled up by their cousins and siblings, the adults and older teenagers had huddled into small groups in the kitchen and living room. Leon led Marcy around introducing her to aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews in their late teens, his grandparents, and certainly his parents. All of which welcomed her with open arms, showering her with compliments and barraging her with the typical ‘I want to know more about this potential new family member’ questions.
“Oh ho ho, You’re such a darling!” Anna, Leon’s mother, complimented the very flustered and overstimulated Marcy. She hadn’t been prepared to answer so many questions about herself, such as how she had met Leon to more mundane questions like what kind of job she had. All of which were difficult questions for Marcy to answer for one glaring issue she had been trying to avoid since they had arrived. “Why don’t you find where Leon ran off to and meet everyone out in the backyard? The kids are going to do an egg hunt before we start lunch.”
“Yeah. Sure! I can do that.” Marcy awkwardly excused herself from her boyfriend's mother’s presence before scouring the living room and dining room for Leon. He had settled down onto the couch where he was having a conversation with his dad and two of his uncles about their line of work. “Leon?” Marcy quietly squirreled her way in between the men's conversation. “You’re mom wanted me to find you and have us head outside. They’re gonna do the Easter egg hunt for the kids and then start lunch.”
“That sounds great!” One of Leon’s uncles exclaimed. “I was wondering when we were doing lunch cause I sure was getting peckish!” The four men got up from the couch with their beverages in hand. Leon’s dad and two uncles continued their conversation as they made their way to the backdoor while Leon checked in with Marcy.
“You doing okay? You seem really nervous.” The only response Leon got to his questions was a timid nod of the head by Marcy who avoided making eye contact with him. “Ma!” Leon peered over Marcy’s shoulder and shouted to get his moms attention. “We’re gonna take a quick walk if you don’t mind.”
“Of course!” His mother replied back with her own shout from two rooms away. “Just don’t be long! Lunch will be ready any moment now!”
Leon grabbed Marcy by her hand and led her out through the front door where they began walking down the sidewalk. “Was it just a little too much?” Once again Marcy responded by simply nodding. “I understand. It’s a lot of people to meet and it can be overwhelming. Did you want to talk about it?”
Marcy stayed quiet for a few seconds before deciding to speak up. “It’s just… your family is so nice and everything but they keep asking questions that I don’t know how to answer. I mean… how am I supposed to answer around… well…” She couldn’t bring herself to directly refer to what she meant. She hadn’t always been Marcy. In fact, just over half a year ago she was a depressed young man named Marvin who found himself in a dead end job and helplessly lost at the bottom of countless bottles of booze. One particularly bad night he called Leon, who at the time was simply his best and only friend, drunk and sobbing about how much he hated his life. Leon, being the good guy he was, stayed on the phone with him until he arrived at his apartment just to find Marvin at his all time low sitting on the bathroom tile with a mostly empty bottle of whiskey in hand. He cleaned him up and began helping him to bed when Marvin finally, in his drunken stupor, relayed how much he hated his life. He let it slip that he felt like he had wasted his life after high school and that he detested being a man but it wasn’t like there was anything he could do about it. Leon did his best to comfort his drunken and brazzen friend as he helped him into his bed and stayed with him until he fell asleep. Next thing Marvin knew he had woken up with one of the worst hangover headaches he had ever experienced and the unmistaken weight of two H-cup breasts hanging from his chest. Turns out his childhood buddy Leon came from a long bloodline of sorcerers and, despite being prohibited from using his powers, felt bad for Marvin and peered into his mind while he slept and molded his body to match better suit what he wanted of himself which he explained to Marvin after a night of sleeping on his friends couch.
“The fact I used my magic on you?” Leon finished Marcy’s sentence.
“Yeah…”
Leon laughed before twirling Marcy in front of him and grabbing ahold of her other hand. “You are aware I already told them. Right?”
“What?! No! You never- You didn’t tell me!” She pouted.
“That’s my bad. I figured you already knew when I asked you to come with me to my family’s Easter family gathering.” He paused for a short moment. “I thought it was obvious.”
“Well it wasn’t. They kept asking me how I met you or what I did for a living and I was suffering trying to explain that I lost my job from suddenly being turned into a woman!”
“I’m sorry babe.” Leon pulled Marcy in close to him and wrapped his arms around her waist. “I should’ve told you.”
“Yeah, well… You’re gonna have to sleep on the couch or make it up to me somehow.” Although she was upset her tone came off as playful and a bit bratty as they both knew she didn’t want to sleep alone in their bed.
“Haha, I guess I owe you a back massage tonight then. Although…” He leaned in close and looked Marcy in her eyes, her abundant breasts squishing into his torso. “… for putting up with my rowdy family I surely owe you a bit more than just that. I can do that one thing I know you like.”
Marcy’s face turned multiple shades more red as she broke eye contact with Leon. “I- I guess you can sleep in our bed tonight.”
“That’s what I figured.” Leon’s voice held a thick smirk within his tone. “Now let’s head on back. I’m sure the kids have exhausted their Easter egg hunt.”
