“Hey Emi, wait up for a moment!”

Emi rolled her eyes and let out an annoyed sigh as her classmate’s voice called out to her from behind. She stopped dead in her tracks, stalling the flow of traffic through the bustling halls of her high school, and turned to face her scrawny peer as he pushed his way through the crowd. “What do you want Matt?”

He broke free from the sea of students, stumbling forward with a flail as he kept himself upright. “Oh! Uh, first of all, hi! Secondly, I uh- I wanted to give you something.” He slipped one arm out from his backpack strap and swung it over to his side so he could rummage through the overstuffed bag. “I know you and I don’t get along very well and that I can be a bit annoying at times but…” Matt faltered his speech for a moment as he moved a large wad of loose papers out of the way to check what was underneath before dropping it back into his bookbag and moving onto the next pouch. “… I commissioned something special for you as a token for tolerating me.”

“O-kay?” Emi glanced around the hall to make sure none of her friends were seeing this as she’d never live it down but as she did she noticed that the halls had thinned out quite a bit as people filed into their first period classes. “Is this going to take long? I think the bell is about to ring.”

“It won’t! I just need to find it…” Matt zipped up the second pouch after failing to find this mystery gift and began digging around in the third and final pouch. Just as he did the bell rang throughout the school signalling that first period had begun. Matt must’ve heard Emi huff in annoyance as she watched the rest of the stragglers head into their classes because he began to panic and began digging through his backpack even faster. “Wait! Wait, wait… It has to be in- Oh? Here it is!” He pulled a detailed anime figurine that was an uncannily accurate depiction of Emi out of his bookbag and held it out to her with both hands. “I hope you like it!”

Emi furrowed her brow and curled her lips in disgust as she glanced between the figurine and the weirdo holding it out to her. She couldn’t quite make out the exact pose it was in as Matt was holding it so it was facing towards her but she could make out what she believed was the figurine's hand behind its back lifting its skirt in a provocative manner. “What the hell is this?”

Matt’s cheerful, almost innocent demeanor deflated at Emi’s remark. “What do you mean? It’s you!” He held the gift up a little higher for emphasis and moved it closer to Emi in hopes that she’d take it from him.

Emi leaned back away from the figurine and raised her eyes, wide yet with pinpoint pupils, from the figurine up to Matt’s face. “That’s really creepy Matt.” She paused for a brief moment but continued as she felt she needed to clarify something to him. “And you know I’m not Japanese right? I’m a third generation Chinese-American so I don’t know why you think I’m into that Anime stuff…”

“Oh. I mean, I knew that. But if you don’t like it I can-” He heard Emi suddenly shout as he lowered his hands down towards the open pouch of his bookbag to put away the figurine.

“What?! No!” She took a step towards him and reached down to snatch his wrists. “There’s no way I’m letting you take that back with you! You’re going to do weird perver-” The moment she snatched it from his hands she felt like she was propelled forward at the speed of light. In the blink of an eye her perspective had changed from being up in Matt’s face to staring down at the tile ground of the school's hallway. “-ted stuff with it! … What the?!” Emi’s entire body felt frozen stiff, not refusing to move but incapable of it. She felt the warmth of a giant hand squeezing tightly around her cold, hard body and she couldn’t help but notice the pose she was stuck in. Her head was looking to the side over her shoulder, her left hand was held up in front of her holding her phone and her right hand… her right hand was held behind her back nestled in the fold where her ass and thighs met.

“Okay! Geez. I was just going to return it.” Emi couldn’t see Matt but from his tone she could tell he was cowering like his usual spineless self as he whined about how rough Emi had been with him. What she heard next though caused her nonexistent blood to run cold as she heard her own voice from above her answer him.

“As if!” Emi felt herself being lifted up by the hand that was holding her. She was rotated every which way as she was inspected before being tilted upright and turned to be face to face with… herself. Her face, now giant compared to her small plastic body, scowled at her with disgust before turning to berate Matt some more. “It even has my ass exposed with an upskirt pantyshot! No. I’m taking this so I can guarantee it gets thrown away.”

“Thrown away?!” Emi silently panicked. If she still had a heart it surely would’ve skipped a beat and would’ve been racing by now. “No! Anything but that! I’m the real Emi!”

“Thrown away?!” Matt shouted back at her. “Y-you can’t do that! I mean… That cost me a lot of money! Yeah… And if you don’t want it I’d at the very least like to return it.”

“You can’t return me! I’m the real Emi! Someone please just hear me!” Emi wanted to thrash, to scream at the top of her lungs to get anyone's attention but her figurine body didn’t budge. Her frozen neutral expression betrayed the pure panic she was feeling.

“You think I’m going to believe that?” Emi’s own voice boomed in her plastic ear as it shouted back at Matt. “You’re lucky I don’t get the principle involved!”

“No, please I-” Matt puffed air out of his nose as he bit the inner side of his mouth. “I swear I’ll return it. Hell, if you let me do that I swear to god I won’t bother you ever again.”

“Mmm…” Emi’s flesh and blood body groaned as she narrowed her eyes at Matt. “You promise?”

“I promise.” Matt held a hand out and, after a short moment where human Emi contemplated what he said, the real Emi had her point of view shift across the hallway walls as she was handed off to Matt. “Thank you. Custom figurines like this are expensive so being able to get a refund is a real life saver.”

“Whatever.” Emi watched as her body turned and as it walked away it shouted over its shoulder at Matt. “If I find out you didn’t return that thing I’ll make you regret it!”

“Haha… I’ll return it. I swear on my mother’s grave.” Matt waited until human Emi had turned down a bend in the hallway and was out of sight and earshot before turning the figurine to face him.

Emi had her point of view rotated, scrolling across the walls and closed doors before it suddenly stopped on Matt’s giant face which looked down at her. “So is this it? The rest of my life on some store shelf until I’m bought?” She was having trouble coming to terms with her reality and as she thought of it more she realized that things weren’t looking good for her. “And in the pose I’m in… I hope I’m not bought by some creep like Matt.” Speaking of Matt she refocused back on the present to be shocked by the look Matt was giving her. It was a sly, devilish, and vile smirk, his narrow eyes stared deep into her soul as his raised cheeks from smiling made them look even smaller. Emi no longer felt panic or dread, she felt horror rattle within her hollow plastic body as Matt’s expression was one of ‘I won’ and ‘I can’t believe she fell for that!’

“Oh-hoho!” He brought Emi closer to his face, leaving less than an inch gap between her and his nose which dwarfed her own head. “I can’t believe she let me keep you! How are you doing in there by the way, Emi? I wonder if you already figured it out or you’re just now realizing what’s going on.”

If Emi’s body wasn’t already frozen in place she would have been paralyzed with fear as she was made aware that Matt knew she was in the figurine. “W-what do you mean? You know?! What do you mean you know?! Let me out! Y-you can’t keep me in here!”

Matt stared longingly at his trophy, blissfully unaware of the shouting and cursing being thrown his way. “You and I are going to have so much fun!~ I already have a jar that’s just your size waiting at home for you.~” He brought his head up and away from Emi as he slung his bookbag over his shoulder and began to lower her back inside.

“Jar?! Why do I need a jar?!” The fact that Emi couldn’t hyperventilate was only causing her fear to rise as she was silently and carelessly dropped into Matt’s backpack. She stared up at Matt, the zippers to his bags pouch framing his face as it looked down at her from above. “I take it back! Throw me away! Please! Just don’t leave me with… you!” Without a word Matt zipped up the pouch to his backpack casting Emi into complete darkness.
