The buzz of cheap, never maintained fluorescent lights shone down on the various display cases and shelves that Rodney was absent mindedly restocking with jeans and folded shirts. Having a minimum wage job at a clothing store in the mall wasn't the most glamorous thing he could be doing to help pay for college but despite its stress he found it was at least an easy and simple job. That was if he ignored the ride customers, the constant ill-advised changes corporate enacted, and the endless amount of misplaced and unfolded items he had to fix which really felt like a sisyphean task more days than not. But it was simple and worked with his schedule so that's all he could really ask for at the moment.

“Rodney, there you are!” The familiar, ever panicked voice of his boss, Darryl, shouted out from a dozen or so yards away. The overweight man sprinted as fast as he could as Rodney quizzically watched while continuing to restock the shelf. By the time Darryl had closed the distance between the two of him he was panting as he spoke. “Rodney, I got news from our district manager that someone from corporate is coming down later today to do an audit. Can I ask a huge favor from you?”

“Sure thing!” Rodney put on the same ‘fake happy’ voice for his boss as he did for the customers. “What do you need done?”

“Oh, thank you so much Rodney! I knew I could count on you. That's why I ran right away to find you.” Darryl turned and gestured for Rodney to follow. “We can walk and talk.”

Rodney shrugged, grabbed his cart of backstock, and proceeded to follow Darryl who filled him in on his request as they made their way to storage. “This is a huge mess I’m telling you Rodney! I’ve got too many people clocked in so our labor percentages are in the crapper and some special ordered displays corporate got for us have gone missing!” He pushed the door to the back storage area open and held it so Rodney could easily push his cart through. “And you know corporate is gonna nitpick how some of my employees act, like Jack.” He paused for a short moment before looking back at Rodney as he passed him, “Not you though Rodney! Next time we have an opening I’m gonna push for our district manager to promote you to our next floor manager. You're clearly my best crew member we got and I’d love to work with you on our management team.”

“I appreciate that Darryl.” Rodney pushed his cart of inventory back into its section and left his clipboard of forms along with it. “You said we were missing some display pieces? I can go check our delivery logs to see where they went.”

Darryl shook his head. “That won’t do. I checked them earlier today and they weren't anywhere in the logs. Plus,” Darryl placed a hand on Rodney's shoulder and guided him towards his office, “I need you to kill two birds with one stone.”

“I’m sorry Darryl but I’m not following.” Rodney was ushered into his bosses office who locked the door behind them. “If we're overstaffed, why are you sending me home? Especially if we're getting audited today?”

Darryl sighed, “I don't know how else to say this Rodney so I’m just gonna spit it out. I need you to fill in for a lost mannequin whi-”

“Fill in for a mannequin?!” Rodney interrupted his boss. “Darryl, what does that even mean?”

Darryl held one of his index fingers up and began fishing around in his pocket. “My wife loves these things and I don't think she'll like me using one for this but she'd be even more upset if I lost my job.” He pulled a circular white stock which read ‘Magisticker: Think It, Live It!’ around the edge and ‘Caution: Do Not Tear!’ in bold red text the center. “I just have to visualize what you’ll become and place it somewhere on you.”

“I don't know Darryl. This seems like a lot to ask of me.”

“Come on! It'll only be until the end of the day. As soon as I send everyone home for the night I’ll come remove the sticker from you and you can head on your merry way.” Darryl could see on Rodney’s face that he wasn’t sole on being transformed into a mannequin for a few brownie points with his boss. “How about this,” Darryl reached into his back pocket, pulled out his wallet, and began ruffling through the cash he had, “I’ll pay you what you're missing out on by being clocked out and…” he pulled out a small wad of 100 dollar bills and handed them to Ridney before pulling a white enveloped which had ‘Petty Cash’ scribbled onto it, “here's a hefty bonus for helping me out.” Darryl pulled another small wad of 100 dollar bills out of the store's petty cash and handed it to Rodney. “What do you say?”

Rodney looked down at the handful of cash he had been given and knew without counting it that it was easily 700 to 800 dollars, more than what he made in a week of full time pay. “SIGH I’ll do it but just this once.”

“Thank you so much Rodney! You’re a real lifesaver!” Darryl approached Rodney and walked behind him. “Mind lifting the back of your shirt for me?”

Rodney complied, grabbing the back corner of his shirt and exposing the lower left side of his back. “So does this take awhile or-” Rodney didn't get an answer as his boss slapped the sticker onto his exposed skin without warning. POOF Rodney was covered in a sudden cloud of dust which quickly dissipated. “- is it instant?… Oh.” Rodney tried to move to see if it had worked or to see if his boss had finally lost his marbles but to his surprise he couldn't move at all. But that wasn't everything, despite being hollow and made of a light plastic he could feel an added weight to his chest which pulled down on his shoulders and back. Darryl walked into view, inspecting how Rodney turned out which is when he noticed one last major change. Rodney was a rather tall guy, even compared to average height men like Darryl but now he found himself a good three to four inches shorter than his rotund boss who seemed happy with how he turned out.

“Perfect! Now we just need to get you all set up.” Darryl reached underneath the sleeve of Rodney's shirt and removed his arm where it met at his shoulder, followed by the other. Rodney could tell the exact moment his arms had been disconnected as they were overwhelmed with the same tingling static sensation one's legs get when sitting on a toilet for too long. Darryl placed his arms off to the side of his desk and then proceeded to strip Rodney’s work uniform from him. His hands brushed against Rodney’s neck as he unbuttoned his polio and pulled it over his head. Next, Rodney had to endure the embarrassment of his boss essentially stripping him down nude, starting from his lowest point and working his way up. First was his shoes and socks, which Darryl haphazardly dropped onto the floor of his office, followed by unbuckling Rodney’s belt and jeans. His jeans were pulled down his legs, exposing his boxers which too were swiftly removed. “Now let’s get you dressed.” Darryl disappeared behind Rodney who felt a piece of cloth being wrapped around his groin and tied around his hips. “And one last piece.” Darryl reappeared into Rodney’s view holding a black bra with cups each nearly double the size of his head.

“What kind of mannequin did you turn me into?!” Rodney silently pondered to himself as Darryl approached him with the bra. He placed each cup over Rodney’s plastic breasts, reached around him to fasten the bra's clasp, and adjusted the straps to rest on his shoulders.

“Perfect!” Darryl grabbed Rodney’s arms and reattached them, causing the tingling sensation to finally dissipate. “Let’s go get you set up!” Darryl hoisted Rodney up and tilted him so that he could carry him under his arm. A short, disorienting walk later and Rodney was tilted upright once again. Rodney instantly recognized it as the store's new ‘plus size’ section in the womens department. “One last thing…” Darryle grabbed a brown wig from his back pocket and placed it onto Rodney’s head. “Perfect! And thank you again Rodney for putting up with this. I owe you big time!” Darryl checked his watch before returning his attention back to Rodney. “I have more stuff I have to get in order so don’t get yourself in trouble.” He playfully said before turning and walking away, leaving Rodney to his stagnant self.

Hours later if you asked Rodney to describe what it was like to be a mannequin he’d simply say it was boring. Stuck in one spot, staring at one fixed point in a low traffic section of a clothing department store didn’t exactly bring a bunch of excitement. Hell, of the few customers who did enter this section of the store none of them even really paid attention to his existence as they all simply grabbed the article of clothing they were looking for and left. The only thing to really note was that an occasional customer would contort their face into a grimace upon seeing him or make comments about the non-existent children potentially seeing him. Simple prudeish men and women who couldn’t fathom that some women are just naturally busty and still need to buy their clothes somewhere. But no, even the occasional look of disgust thrown his way was too boring. That was until it hit the time that the local schools got out and they’d flock to the mall.

“Woah! Why the hell do they have something like this?” Rodney spotted two teenage boys off in the distance with one of them directing his friends' attention towards him.

“Yeah, yeah. Point and gawk all you want. Just don’t cause any trouble!” Rodney silently prayed that the two boys would get a good chuckle out of the big breasted mannequin and be on their way but of course that’s not what their puberty riddled brains decided to do as they began approaching him.

“It looks like it belongs in Spencer’s.” The two young men got up into Rodney’s face and began inspecting him all over.

Now Rodney knew he still had a sense of touch despite being an immovable humanoid display piece made of plastic as he could feel Darryl as he was being dressed up and he could feel his clothes press into his body. What he didn’t expect was to have erogenous zones. “Ah!~ What the?~” He would have jumped if he could as the sudden grabbing of his boobs by one of the boys sent a surprising jolt of pleasure through his chest. “Stop touching me you little perverts!~”

“Hey,” The other teenager said, “know what I’d do if my girlfriend looked like this?”

“Eek!~” Rodney couldn’t help but let out a silent squeak as the second boy suddenly, without warning, grabbed his crotch. The sudden pressure on his non-existent genitals sent intense signals of pleasure and arousal throughout his immobile, plastic body which made his stiff legs feel somehow weak. “Hah~ Stop…~”

“What the hell are you twerps doing!?” Darryl’s voice boomed from out of Rodney’s field of view which sent the boys immediately scattering. “That’s what I thought! Keep your hands off the displays!” Once satisfied that he had scared the two teenage boys away he walked over to Rodney and made sure they hadn’t damaged him. “I apologize for that. You know how teenagers are.” Darryl readjusted the bra the boys had messed with and brushed away some imaginary dust from Rodney’s shoulder. “Don’t worry though, I just have to do a sweep of the store with the auditor and I’ll have you back to flesh and blood in no time.” He took a step back, looked Rodney over one more time, and nodded before checking his watch. “Speaking of, I have to go meet him right now! Hang in there for just a few more hours.” And just as quickly as he arrived he left.

Rodney luckily didn’t have to wait in boredom for too long this time though as he spotted his nervous boss and a short, older man approach the plus size section. “A-and this is our plus size section that we were instructed to set up. We made sure to follow the floor plan to a T!”

The auditor narrowed his eyes, unimpressed as he walked throughout the plus size section. He ran a finger along the top of a shelf as he checked for dust, neatly moved piles of folded clothes to expose unfolded messes behind them, and checked each price tag to ensure they had the correct pricing on them. All of which the store failed miserably on. “When was the last time you ran through here and checked for quality?”

Darryl: “M-me? Well I- You know- We’ve been so busy!”

“Mmm hmm.” The auditor continued his rounds of the plus size section, finding more examples of the very problems he pointed out until he got to Rodney, the ‘mannequin’ corporate specifically got for this very section of the store. “And this!” Before Rodney or Darryl could process what the auditor was doing he reached behind Rodney and snatched the sticker from his back, tearing it in the process. “You should know better than to leave any tags or stickers on our display pieces!”

“Fuck!” Rodney panicked at seeing the auditor holding up just half of the sticker. “Is that bad? The sticker said ‘do not tear’… right?”

Darryl: “… I- I know but-!”

“I don’t want to hear it Darryl! This store is an absolute travesty!” The auditor stepped towards the store manager, waving the torn sticker in his face while he berated him. “The inventory is way off, one of your employees told you they’d ‘do it when they want to’ when asked to fix something, and I’m pretty sure you’ve been stealing from the store!”

“St- stealing?! Where did that come from?” Darryl was sweating bullets at this accusation. His eyes constantly darted towards Rodney who could do nothing but take in the awkward scene before him.

Rodney: “Shit!”

Auditor: “Don’t play dumb! Why else would the store's petty cash be off by a couple hundred bucks?”

Darryl’s face became a ghostly pale as he realized just how much he had fucked up. “I- I can explain! I have a perfectly reasonable reason for that!”

Auditor: “I’m sure you do. But you can save those for your lawyer.”

Darryl: “L-lawyer? But I-”

Auditor: “I don’t want to hear it! As of right now you’re fired. Go grab your stuff from your office and leave.”

Darryl’s eyes kept darting back to Rodney as he stuttered to the auditor. “C-can I at least close out for the day? I- I have something I need to finish up.”

Rodney: “You’re damn right you have something to finish up! You can’t just leave me like this!”

“Darryl,” The auditor was calm despite the clear annoyance in his eyes. “Do I need to get security involved?”

Darryl: “… No…”

“Wait! Darryl!” Rodney helplessly watched as Darryl dropped his head in defeat and began sulking off to his office to pack his belongings, leaving him and the Auditor alone in the plus size section.

“Look at this mess I have to clean up!” The auditor muttered to himself as he looked around. “You!” He pointed at someone outside of Rodney’s vision. “Take this mannequin to the back and scrub the sticker off of it. It looks unsightly.”

???: “Yes sir.”

Rodney couldn’t quite put a name to the voice he had heard but he knew it was one of his male coworkers at the very least. “Is that Dave? Shit… I hope I don’t transform back if the sticker is completely removed! How the hell would I explain that to him?” But Rodney was wrong, it wasn’t Dave. Instead his coworker Jack, who everyone avoided due to him making creepy comments about their female coworkers, came into view. “Not Jack!” Rodney was lifted up by Jack who began carrying him to the back of the store. “No, no, no, no!”

“There we go.” Jack placed Rodney down next to their cabinet of cleaning supplies which he began rummaging through. It didn't take him long to find a mostly clean towel and a spray bottle of generic cleaner. “Man, I didn't even know Darryl ordered another one of these things!” He gave the mannequin a half-assed once over with his eyes as he approached with the towel and cleaner in hand.

“He didn't!” Jack walked right up to Rodney before disappearing behind him. Rodent already felt uneasy being in the same vicinity as Jack but having him be behind him, unable to turn his head to simply keep an eye on him made that general feeling of anxiety much, much worse. “You better not be doing any fun-Eee!~” The sudden spray of cleaner against his lower back elicited a shriek of surprise from him as Jack got busy scrubbing the sticker remnants off.

“There we go!” Jack exclaimed to himself after a good few minutes of uninterrupted scrubbing.

Rodney: “I guess I’m not turning back? How does that damn sticker even work?”

Rodney was startled out of his silent pondering by Jack as he suddenly appeared in front of him, practically staring into his soul. He was so close that Rodney could feel Jack's breath hitting his face. “Don't you worry a thing!” Jack placed his hand on Rodney's cold, plastic cheek and ran his finger across it slowly. “God I’m so lucky!” Jack brought his lips mere centimeters away from Rodney's ear and as he spoke his short exhales sent uncomfortable tingles down Rodney's spine as his breath tickled his ear. “Once that guy from corporate is gone I’ll make sure to reunite you with your sister.”

“Reunited with my sister? What the hell are you talking about?!” Jack took a step back from Rodney, before walking over to his side and lifting him up once again. “What the hell are you talking about?” He was taken back out onto the floor and set up where he had been posted all day.

“Took you long enough!” The shrill and commanding voice of the auditor shouted over at Jack. “Clock out and head home so I can close the store for the day.“

“You got it sir!” Before leaving, Jack turned and whispered to Rodney, “You're gonna look so good in my bedroom next to your sister.” And walked off.

“Bedroom?! Wait! No, no, no, no! You took the other mannequin!” Rodney shouted, fully aware that Jack couldn't hear him but with panic settling in it was merely an afterthought. “But- but… how is Darryl going to know where I am? But the sticker was torn… does that matter?” The lights shut off, leaving Rodney alone in the empty store, abandoned for the night.
