Also, leaving is only possible when in a clear mental and physical state, and participating often leaves you unable to change back for hours afterwards as you try to overcome the physical stress and effects. This is where the real challenge comes from… though some say that they like that part as well.

I guess we are all masochists for coming back and doing this over and over again. Compared to the rest, it’s been easy for me—I know I don’t deserve to be this good. But still, from time to time, I come across someone who’s even better, and I feel that urge to push myself harder. It reminds me that we are the ones who are making it a competition. I have to remember that we are doing this just for fun, there is no reward for winning, and we can leave at any time.
