You had been looking for this hidden dungeon for a long time, having heard stories about the vast wealth and valuables that could be obtained within. The dungeon once belonged to a powerful, wealthy Baroness who aligned herself with the Demon Lord years ago, but after they were defeated, she disappeared without a trace, spawning the stories about the dungeon where she stored her vast fortunes. After months of searching, you eventually found it, ignoring various warnings from townspeople and adventurers regarding it. They told tall tales of people such as myself entering that dungeon and never returning, no one ever knowing what happened to them, but as you scouted it out, all you saw were basic monsters and some traps.
Gathering up all your resources and gear, you finally sleuthed your way into the dungeon one night, using your skills as a Rogue to avoid the monsters entirely and spot any additional traps. You began to doubt the efficacy of the information you had been given, seeing how run-down and barren the outer portions of the dungeon were, but as you got deeper, you started seeing it give way to older, regal architecture. Several old banners bore the crest of the Baroness’ family, all but confirming that this was indeed the real deal. Avoiding a few suits of enchanted, sentient armor, you finally broke into the “inner sanctum” of the dungeon, the Vault, almost blinded by the glittering sight before you. This was it, everything you had dreamed of.
Piles of gold, seemingly endless, were strewn all across the Vault, lit by an almost ethereal light from above. You could feel yourself starting to shake out of pure excitement, practically on the verge of salivating as you took out one of your burlap sacks and began to fill it to the brim with gold. It should have been an obvious red flag, the ease at which you had gotten inside such a treasure trove, but the immense pride you felt, mixed with a sense of greed, was far too overwhelming. As you finished filling two bags, you noticed a large chest near the back of the vault. It was adorned intricately with polished brass and ivory, and on the front was a big keyhole, just waiting to be picked. You licked your lips, kneeling down with your lockpicks.
Inserting the two pieces of the pick, you put your ear up against the side of the chest, trying to listen for the sound of the tumblers moving inside. You managed to move a few of them before you heard something unexpected. You could have sworn you started hearing a… faint heartbeat, coming from inside the chest. As you realized this, a black, tar-like substance shot out of the keyhole, covering your hand and part of your chest. You screamed out in a mixture of shock and pain as you felt it burning your skin. As your voice echoed off the walls of the Vault, the chest suddenly opened by itself, revealing a gaping, black maw filled with large teeth. Before you could react at all, several tentacles emerged from the black mass, grabbing you by the arms and leges before slowly pulling you inside. You tried to reach out for anything to stop your movement, but all you did was knock down more gold before it pulled you fully inside, past the teeth, directly into the black tar. You screamed as you sunk into the interior, the lid slamming shut on you.
Darkness consumed you as you could feel your clothes melting off your body, the slime seeping into every one of your pores. At first, it hurt just as much as it did before, but the pain slowly gave way to an odd sense of… pleasure. A certain… tingle. You had no idea that you had shrunk dramatically in size, your mass being converted to more of the black sludge. As this was happening, you could feel the cold texture of gold, pure gold, traveling up and down your body. Most of it was jewelry, but some was the gold you had been carrying, embedding itself in your own, new body. You couldn’t help but feel… hot! So pleased, so… turned on by the feeling of the gold against your new, slimy form. You were unable to think of anything else but gold!
“My, my… it’s been quite a long time since someone’s fallen for my trap.~” A muffled voice spoke from outside the chest, giving you a slight scare. “You turned out very well, I must admit. How do you feel, my little thief? How does it feel to become the property of Baroness Annette Boissieu?”
“I feel great!” You said in a new, feminine voice, still feeling pangs of pleasure coursing through your body. “So much gold! I love it!”
“Caught quite the greedy one, didn’t I?” The Baroness cooed as you could hear the sound of fingernails being tapped against the chest. “I think you’ll make a good pet for me, I think. So eager to keep my gold and other valuables close by and protected, am I right?”
“Yes, my Baroness! I exist only to protect your most valued treasures!” You agreed, your chest opening back up.
Stood before you was the Baroness, who didn’t look a day older than when she had committed her resources to the Demon King. She was completely adorned in only the finest gold, gems, and silks, a true, pure example of regal wealth and elegance. You felt honored to be next to her. You new, slimy form had taken on a female appearance, with modest breasts and large hips. The Baroness’ jewelry clung to you tightly, having become part of your new, glossy “skin”. You could feel yourself drooling in pleasure, the remains of your mind unable to comprehend what had happened to it anymore.
“You’ll be my guardian, my loyal servant. The Keeper of my fortune.” She said, rubbing the top of your “head” with a smile on her face. “Thanks to your old, greedy form, I finally claimed enough souls to resurrect myself. I’ll start from scratch, and succeed where that so-called Demon Lord failed.”
“I’ll be happy to serve you, my Baroness!” You gleefully announced, wanting to hop out and give her a hug. You were stationary, however.
“I’m glad my first follower is such an enthusiastic one.” She beamed, leaning into your chest and giving you a quick kiss. You froze up in shock.
From that point on, you remained in the former dungeon as the Baroness rebuilt the outermost sections, a lavish manor eventually being built above you as your Vault remained at the heart of the original structure. You happily served as the guardian of her many treasures, which slowly began to build even further as the years went on. You couldn’t have been happier with your new role, considering you now had all the gold you’d ever want.
