You had screwed up, and you were very well aware of that fact. Being one of the RedEclipse server technicians, your job was supposed to focus solely on keeping the company computer server in perfect, running order. It was a simple job, especially since you were rather withdrawn and antisocial, but you had one crippling problem: curiosity. Your urge to gather unknown, lost, or “forbidden” information had gotten you in trouble a few times in your school years, mostly involving getting into school computers to snoop around, but this time it was serious. While bored during your shift, you decided it would be a “good idea” to hook your personal laptop up to the servers for a “CPU Test”. You began delving into company files, wanting to get the scoop on some juicy office drama between the more… outspoken people working for RedEclipse. Unfortunately, you came across something very… bad.

The CEO of the company, Mr. Wallach, had his fingers in a lot of messy, illegal stuff. Money laundering, mob dealings, gambling, extortion, and a few other awful things. What scared you the most was one email he had sent to an external, anonymized email address involving an old coworker of yours, a girl called Tania. She had once been his secretary, and had gone missing a few months ago after not coming to work for a few days. Though the email didn’t go into specifics, you suspected from the verbiage and “code words” that Mr. Wallach possibly had something to do with her disappearance. Unfortunately for you, you then discovered Mr. Wallach had a special program installed into the server that notified him whenever his files were accessed. This included the live location where the access occurred, and the employee ID of whoever did so. As you realized this, you immediately yanked the plug out of the server stack, disconnecting your laptop’s battery for good measure. You hoped that, since you had used your own laptop, the trace hadn’t fully gone through, but your heart sank like a rock and went cold as you were called up to his office the very next day for… undefined reasons.

You knew there was no way you’d get out of the office if you tried to run, especially with the security, so you marched to his office, ready for anything.

Walking cautiously into Mr. Wallach’s very spacious office, you saw a large cardboard box sitting next to his desk. He turned to face you, not with a look of anger or suspicion, but with a joyous, fun-loving smile. He seemed to be in a great mood, and you quickly made sure to put on your best “neutral” face.

“Ah, Kornel… Leśnik, is that right?” He greeted with your name, standing up and offering quite the enthusiastic handshake. “Nice to meet you, son!”

“It’s good to meet you too, Mr. Wallach.” I replied with a curt nod, putting my hands together nervously. “What can I help you with today, sir?”

“Ah, it’s nothing big, really. I finally got one of these new-fangled dolls delivered today, and I can’t figure out how to make her work.” He began to explain, opening the box to reveal one of those O.B.D.Ns Company H.A.N.A. androids, or “dolls”. You hadn’t seen one in-person yet, and you were shocked to see how realistic she was. She was dressed in stereotypical “business casual” attire, including black leggings, a white shirt, black vest, black skirt, and a little tie around her neck. “She’s supposed to act as my new secretary, and the boys in the IT Department recommended you to come up and help me out.”

You still felt like something was very off about this, especially when he mentioned she would be the “new secretary”, but you decided to play along.

“I… don’t have any personal experience with one of these, but I can take a look at her and see if I can get her running.” I went on, leaning over and looking deeper into the box. “Did she come with any instructions that I can read through? This is a bit outside my level of expertise.”

“No instructions, unfortunately. All I was able to find in that box was this strange-looking remote.” He scratched his head, handing me said remote.

You took it, staring at it for a few moments. The remote was a weird shape, looking like a hybrid of a smartphone and a TV remote. There were plenty of buttons to press, but for some reason none of them were labeled like they were supposed to be. Only one of the physical buttons stood out, a smaller green one near the bottom. In a moment of absent-mindedness, you pressed it, only for the world to rapidly spin around you before you passed out…

Waking up an unknown amount of time later, you open your eyes, seeing your vision is now sharp despite the lack of glasses on your face. You appeared to be laying on your side in the cardboard box. You try to move, but quickly realize you can’t shift a single muscle. It was like you were frozen in place.

“Uh, finally. I was beginning to think you weren’t going to come to.” Mr. Wallach spoke out loud, standing over me in such a way that I could only see his legs. “Putting on that stupid “nice guy” act is bad enough with the rest of these twits, but you? Even when you suspected something, you still fell for it.”

“W-What’s going on?! What have you done to me?” You spoke in a new, softer voice, clearly feminine. “Oh my God, please don’t tell me I’m-”

“You catch on quick, sweet cheeks. You’re now “synchronized”.” He joked, holding up a hand mirror for you to see your reflection. Looking back at you was the doll, but somehow you had “become” it! Mr. Wallach then pressed one button, letting you turn your head around. You could see your arms and legs were tied with pieces of rope, and you even got a glance at your body sitting in the corner of the office as he smiled down at you. “Now, let me make myself perfectly clear. You now belong to me. You are not a man, an individual, or even a human being. You’re property. That’s all you’ll ever be.”

He kneeled down next to the box, getting even closer to you as you felt odd new sensations building up below. You were scared, but you also… weren’t.

“You’re probably starting to feel the effects of all those optional extras I had programmed into you, doll.” He smirked, grabbing one of your thighs before trailing down your leg. The sensations were so strong. “You’ll make a good, loyal, and obedient secretary, but you’ll make an even better stress reliever…”
