Laying with his back on the ground, bleeding profusely from a deep chest wound, Samuel began to reflect on everything that led up to this moment, dying after being stabbed by the Dragon King. The team he had been placed with for this mission laid dead, and it seemed there was no stopping his bleeding. When Samuel had set out on his journey to become an adventurer, it took him across the whole world, from the coldest peaks to the hottest sands. He never meant to get swept up in the war against the Dragon King, who returned after disappearing hundreds of years ago. Though he wasn’t the best fighter, he was a bit more resourceful than most, some even claiming he had an “uncanny” lucky streak. Even if that was true, it seemed his streak had run out. The Dragon King ignored him, returning to his world-ending ritual as he dragged himself along the floor, leaving a streak of crimson behind him. He was determined to do something with his remaining strength, to stop his evil plans, before accidentally touching one of the weapons on display in the hall. He had meant to use it as leverage, but an odd, orange glow now emanated from its cold exterior.

“Someone has grabbed my form! Is it that blasted… no, this energy is different… a mortal. A human.” A voice suddenly spoke out of nowhere as Samuel found himself now unable to let go of the random weapon, an ornate trident, he had touched. “Young, male… and very badly wounded, it seems…”

“W-Who’s talking to m-me?” Samuel asked out loud in a weak, weary tone, looking around for the source of the other, female voice. “Please… h-help…”

“I can help you and defeat him, but you must agree to give me your body and soul.” The woman’s voice said in a grave tone, giving Samuel a brief moment of hesitation as his skin grew paler by the second. “I give you my word as a royal soul that I will end the Dragon King’s plans. I promise.”

“Heh… either w-way, I’m dead…” Samuel chuckled in the face of defeat, already knowing the answer. “F-Fine. Do it. Take it all… and kick his ass.”

“With pleasure.” The voice replied with a hint of excitement as the black trident immediately pulsed with intense magic. Unrestricted power flowed into Samuel’s body, his wounds immediately beginning to mend themselves as the blood traveled back into his body. However, the healing was just the first part of a rapid, intense transformation as his soul mixed with the one inside the trident, triggering an intense heat that threatened to burn him up. Samuel tried again to let go of the trident as the heat continued to build up, but he was shocked to see a darker, tan color travel up his arm, spreading across his body. This change also seemed to result in a change of shape and mass, as his arm slimmed down, becoming far thinner and… womanly. The heat, which he was afraid would burn him or set him on fire at first, began causing an odd sense of pleasure to build up all over his body instead.

The heat seemed to be burning away his clothes, leaving him nearly naked before a new “outfit” of sorts formed to replace them. He was shocked as his bones began loudly popping as his own flesh rolled around his body, making some parts thicker while others became thin and dainty. Suddenly, there was a loud gurgle as his manhood shot back up into his body, leaving him with a warm, moist slit. As he reached one of his thin fingers down towards it, his vision was obstructed by the formation of two huge breasts, squeezed by an odd metal “bra” that had formed around them. Samuel’s thoughts began to blur as a long, leathery tail with a barb on the end erupted from his tailbone, followed immediately after by large dragon wings. Samuel’s soul had become one with hers, the reborn Dragon Queen, Ramiphyr. The Dragon King’s wife. Samuel as a person was gone, their body now a powerful vessel for the angry, vengeful Dragon Queen. Ramiphyr wasted no time using her wings to propel herself into the air, skillfully wielding the trident that had been her prison for so many years. Empowered by Samuel’s soul mixing with her own, she was determined to right what had been wronged before.

She had been forcefully imprisoned by her “husband” for defying his plans to eliminate the other races from the realm. The Dragon King, not wanting to kill her and lose the power her soul still held, forced her into the trident, using her energy to perform powerful magic. She obviously felt very betrayed by this, and sought vengeance against him. Seeing he was distracted by his ritual to end the world, she dashed towards him, plunging the trident into him.

“W-What…im-impossible…” The Dragon King sputtered, turning around to face the fiery orange eyes of his ex-wife. “Ra… Ramiphyr… h-how?”

“I made a promise, and I intend to keep it, my husband.” She smirked with clear malice, before pulling the trident out and cleanly lopping his head off.

The Dragon King’s head fell to the ground as the ritual was stopped in its entirety, causing a wave of powerful, arcane energy to knock her off her feet. The wave was so powerful in fact that it caused the castle to collapse around her, nearly crushing her beneath tons of stone. Ramiphyr emerged from the destroyed castle, her clothes in tatters and flames all around her, but she had been victorious. Her former husband and lover had been stopped.

“It has been done… thank you for your sacrifice, my friend.” Ramiphyr spoke to the soul inside of her, feeling somewhat cold now despite the flames that raged around her nearly-naked form. “I have honored our promise, and will cherish you as long as I live.”

Samuel could only watch through her eyes as Ramiphyr flew away from the ruins, towards the setting sun. She had no intentions of staying, making a scene with her nude form. She knew she needed to find a new home now, one that was secluded, away from the rest of civilization. Eventually, she found a suitable cave up in the mountains, one she could make a home for herself in. She needed to rebuild, make a new home for herself.

After many years in seclusion, Samuel and Ramiphyr’s souls became so intertwined that they were able to speak to one another, becoming great friends with each other. Eventually, Ramiphyr even trusted Samuel enough to share “her” body with him again, allowing him to move and act on his own without her pulling any strings. Ramiphyr, through her link with Samuel, eventually fell in love with him, both of them accepting each other.

After a few more hundred years, people eventually forgot about the Dragon King and his attempt to end the world. Ramiphyr and Samuel would eventually learn magic that would allow the two to move amongst the humans without being recognized as a dragon, allowing Ramiphyr to live the kind of life Samuel had always told her stories about. After spending time in the cities, Ramiphyr eventually bought a farm in the countryside, finally finding a sense of peace that she and Samuel could enjoy together, for the rest of eternity…
